Our Name
The words Hamr & Hugr are taken from the Old Norse language commonly spoken by Scandinavian countries in the 12th century. Hamr (Ham-mer) literally translates to “shape” or “skin” and is what one would use to refer to the body. Hugr (Hʊ-ger) translates into “thought” or “mind” and would often be used to reference the cognitive process. Together they form the basis of my training philosophy which roughly translated is body & mind. I believe it is imperative to train both in order to achieve the best desired result for the individual.
